Brandie Harris broke a scoreless tie in the 60th minute to spark the Dos Pueblos girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over Santa Barbara in a Channel League match at Peabody Stadium on Tuesday.
Erin Ristig scored two minute after Harris and Rachel Smith tallied the third goal in the 78th minute.
“The girls played with more intensity and greater will to win,” DP coach Jose Guerrero said of the difference in the team’s performance in the second half.
Santa Barbara (3-10-2, 3-4) gave the Chargers a tough time in the first half. The Chargers, however, used their speed to break open the Dons’ defense.
The victory for Dos Pueblos (16-4, 5-1) sets up a showdown with unbeaten Buena on Thursday for a shot at Channel League title.
