No. 4 Azusa Pacific made a second-half push to defeat No. 24 Westmont 68-62 on Saturday, taking the Golden State Athletic Conference decision at Murchison Gym.
The Warriors led by as many as six in the second half before Azusa gained the advantage for good on two free throws from Michelle Byrd with 8:27 on the clock.
Vanessa Farias and Angel Blanco matched each other for the team lead in scoring with 13 points. Eboni Sadler led all scorers with 19 for Azusa.
The Cougars sit in first place in conference play with a 14-2 record. Westmont and Vangaurd share fourth place with a 10-6 record.
