Carpinteria girls water polo coach Brian Swarm was waiting for day his team would jump on an opponent early.
It finally happened on Tuesday as the Warriors roared out to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter en route to a 13-3 romp over Oaks Christian in a Tri-Valley League game.
“We finally put in a game where we came out fast,” a pleased Swarm said. “We’ve been slow starters.”
Carter Grant scored three goals and Gabi Garcia, Maddie Brooks, Roxanne Hugo and Hope Grant each tallied two. Goalie Tatiana Verdugo had 15 saves.
Carpinteria improves to 10-3 and 3-0 in the Tri-Valley League.
