Carpinteria rebounded from its first league loss with a 13-4 victory over Oaks Christian, as Carter Grant and Tatiana Verdugo put up huge numbers for the Warriors on Thursday.
Grant scored a game-high seven goals while Verdugo stopped 14 shots in goal. The Warriors improve to 5-1 in the Tri-Valley League after suffering their first league loss to Malibu the day before.
Maddie Brooks added two more goals for Carpinteria and Gaby Garcia, Roxanne Hugo, Kalia Dilioa and Andrea Delgado scored once each.
“Defensively we played well all game,” said Warriors head coach Brian Swarm, whose team was up 8-2 at halftime.
Carpinteria is 12-4 overall.
