Carpinteria played an all-around solid game game in beating Villanova 52-41 at home on Wednesday night.
“We came out and played well from the get-go,” Carpinteria coach Johnny Ward said. “We came out with intensity and fire and went up 12-1 in the first quarter and 23-8 at halftime.”
The Warriors expanded their lead to 40-16 in the third quarter.
“We played a great first half and followed it up with a very strong third quarter,” Ward said.
Trevor Madden scored 14 points and Andrew Sova added 11 for the Warriors (12-8, 3-3)
