Carpinteria’s boys soccer team suffered its second Tri-Valley League defeat on Monday, a 3-1 setback at Santa Paula.
Alfredo Maya converted a corner kick from Cameron Wagner to draw the Warriors even at 1-1 in the second half, but Carpinteria couldn’t stop Santa Paula from scoring twice more.
Carpinteria, 4-2 in league, had been the TVL’s only one-loss team going into the game.
“They put a lot of pressure on us and we didn’t seem to handle it well,” said Warriors head coach Daniel Torres.
Carpinteria travels for another road game on Wednesday at Oaks Christian.
