San Marcos’ wrestling team fell to Ventura on Thursday 69-11, but took away a positive level of confidence heading into the end of the regular season next week.
Yaksin Solano (171 lbs.) and Alec Muno (103 lbs.) won their matches for the Royals. Solano pinned his opponent in the first round while Muno got his in the second.
Blake Rogers didn’t win his fight, but head coach Ken Mishima said he liked his performance.
“I think we wrestled tough tonight,” said Mishima, who thinks his athletes gained some confidence heading into next Saturday’s Channel League Championships.
The Royals still have a league dual meet next Thursday versus Buena.
