Ranked 15th in Southern California, Ventura High had its scoring arsenal firing on all cylinders Monday in a 66-33 rout over Santa Barbara in a Channel League game at J.R. Richards Gym.
The league-leading Cougars, who a week ago lost to Etiwanda, the No. 2-ranked team in the L.A. Times Southland boys basketball ratings, by just one point, spread the scoring around. Dylan Houck and Richard Thomas each scored 11 points, while Jared Wilson and Corey Quintana tallied 10 apiece.
Ventura blew the game open in the first half, outscoring the Dons 37-7, including 17-0 in the second quarter.
Santa Barbara stepped up its play in the second half and improved on its last outing against the Cougars (19 points).
Ventura improves to 19-2 and 7-0 in the Channel League, while Santa Barbara falls to 2-17, 0-7.
