San Marcos’ Yaskin Solano placed eighth at the Nogales SuperChamionships on Saturday, continuing a strong string of performances for the first-year wrestler.
“He’s done a great job this year,” said Ken Yishima.
Solano, a junior, lost his quarterfinal matchup before winning his next match to make the seventh place contest.
Yishima called the Nogales tournament the toughest of the year for the Royals other than CIF.
San Marcos’ varsity team is off next week.
