Freshman Erik Sheets scored 18 points to help Providence Hall rally for a 48-47 win at West Valley Christian on Tuesday night.
The Lions were down by 12 points early but they battled back and took a five-point lead with 1:30 to go.
West Valley Christian had the ball with four seconds left, but a length-of-the-court pass was bobbled and it wasn’t able to get off a final shot.
Providence Hall coach Keith Luberto said Sheets made several key baskets down the stretch.
“He put the ball in the hole when we needed it,” Luberto said. “He carried us at the end.”
JT Royston had 14 points and Nathan Dutcher added 12 for the Lions (6-6).
