SBCC sophomores Allyson Porter and Jenn Waddill have verbally committed to play volleyball at Central Connecticut State in the fall, according to head coach Ed Gover.
Porter and Waddill are expected to sign with the NCAA Division 1 school, located in New Britain, Conn., in April.
Porter, who played for Montana State in 2009, led the Vaqueros in kills (284) last year and was No. 4 in the Western State Conference. She was named first-team All-WSC North and made the All-Southern California team.
Waddill, a 6-1 middle blocker from San Marcos High, earned first-team all-conference honors in both of her seasons at SBCC. Waddill was No. 1 in WSC hitting percentage (.455) and third in solo blocks (29).
The Vaqueros went 21-6 last season and reached the Sweet 16 in the state community college playoffs for the second straight year. They were 9-1 in conference play and shared their second straight WSC title with Moorpark.
The Central Connecticut State Blue Devils were 11-18 in 2010 under 11th-year head coach Linda Sagnelli.
