A second half goal did in San Marcos’ girls soccer team on Thursday, as Buena used the second-effort to edge the Royals 2-1.
Jillian Hirsch scored in the first half on a penalty kick to even the match at 1-1. The game would remain that way until half-way through the second half when Buena broke through for its second score.
San Marcos was victim to another 2-1 loss on Tuesday against Santa Barbara.
“We’ve been in a little bit of a funk this week,” said Royals coach Christy Lozano.
Lozano thought Hannah Ball did well in goal to prevent Buena from adding to its score.
The Royals have plenty of time to regroup as their next scheduled game is nearly two weeks away.
