San Marcos couldn’t hold a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter and dropped a 43-40 Channel League boys basketball game at Buena on Wednesday night.
It was the Royals’ third straight league loss
The Royals turned the ball over six times and Buena hit five straight 3-pointers in the final quarter. The Bulldogs took the lead on a 3 by Shant Israelyan from the right corner with 2:12 left in the game.
Buena outscored San Marcos 20-5 in the final stanza.
Johnny Manzo had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists to lead the Royals (13-6, 2-4). Christian Mkpado, the team’s leading scorer, was held to eight points.
Israelyan scored 14 to lead Buena (4-2 in league).
