Providence Hall closed the gap in the second half, but Cate’s girls basketball team was able to edge the Lions 35-32 on Friday.
Cate enjoyed a balanced scoring attack with seven players finding the scoring column.
Erin Griffin led the Rams with eight points to help Cate improve to 4-3 on the year.
A Condor League game is next for the Rams, scheduled for Wednesday against Dunn.
