Nanice Kollee poured in a season-high 25 points Saturday night and SBCC used a big first half to down Hancock 83-68 in a WSC North women’s basketball game at Santa Maria.
Kollee, a sophomore guard, tallied 15 in the first half as her team built a 47-28 lead. She hit 10-of-14 for the game, including 2-3 from 3-point country, and also had six rebounds and five assists.
Kollee, whose previous high was 21, eclipsed her season average by nearly 16 points.
The Vaqueros (16-7, 3-2) dominated the boards 50-28, including 23 on the offensive end.
Leslie Steele hit a trio of treys en route to 12 points and Lyndsay Bergus added 11 points and six rebounds..
Imelda Bealer collected seven points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Vaqueros’ second straight win and fifth in seven games. Brooke Berry had seven points and eight rebounds (five offensive) while Janelle Wong scored eight and grabbed five boards.
Mercedes Gonzalez contributed six points, six rebounds and four of her team’s 19 steals. The Vaqueros played without leading scorer Brooke Amenta and Jennifer Jimenez.
SBCC plays host to Cuesta on Wednesday at 7 p.m
