Roxanne Hugo tossed in six goals and goalie Tatiana Verdugo played another solid game to carry the Carpinteria girls water polo team to an 11-4 Tri-Valley League win over Cate on Friday.
The Warriors got off to a slow start, leading 1-0 after the first quarter.
“We got it going in the second quarter,” Carpinteria coach Brian Swarm said.
The Warriors went up 5-1 and dominated the rest of the match.
Verdugo played huge in the cage, stopping 15 shots.
“She’s on fire right now,” said Swarm.
Hope and Carter Grant each scored two goals for Carpinteria, which improved to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the TVL.
