Bishop Diego’s boys basketball team didn’t let a difficult first quarter get them down on Monday, as the Cardinals came from behind to defeat Grace Brethren 53-41 in a Frontier League matchup.
Grace Brethren opened up the game by grabbing a 15-6 lead by the end of the first quarter. But a 32-17 advantage for the Cardinals in the second half swung the game in Bishop Diego’s favor.
Paul Garcia and Ben Kwock led Bishop in scoring with 11 points each while Johnny Diaz and Elias Muñoz added nine each.
The victory improves the Cardinals to a league leading 5-1 and 14-7 overall. Bishop plays again on Friday at home versus Malibu.
