Best Photos of 2010

2010 was filled with great sports moments in Santa Barbara so Presidio Sports collected its favorite images from the past 12 months to bring you back. Enjoy 2010 one last time!

PHOTO OF THE YEAR: Vince Agapito captured a perfect freeze-frame of the play that propelled Akron to its first national championship at last month's College Cup in Santa Barbara. Kofi Sarkodi (8) heads the ball past Michigan goalie Chris Blais for the winning goal late in the second half of the Zips' semifinal victory. Akron went on to beat Louisville 1-0 for the title two days later.

UCSB's Orlando Johnson slams one home during the Big West Conference Tournament. The Big West Player of the Year led the Gauchos to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002. (Dvorak)

Dos Pueblos won its first Channel League championship in football since 1979, led by quarterback Michael Spiritosanto (pictured here running for a big gain against Rio Mesa) and running back Josh Bartley. (Agapito)

Olympic swimmer Mark Warkentin is happy to be out of the suddenly chilly East Beach ocean after the Semana Nautica 3-mile open-water swim in July. (Dvorak)

$500 went to Team Foxy for winning the Open Division crown at the first-ever Santa Barbara Beach Soccer Summer Slam in July on West Beach. (Sinclair)

The kids race is a great feature of Nite Moves. This picture captures the fun and excitement of the run and a little of the competition at the same time. (Agapito)

Phil Dalhausser is so big his entire head is over the net. Taken at the AVP Santa Barbara Open in late April. Dalhausser and local boy Todd Rogers won the title of course. (Dvorak)

Harder Stadium hosted 15,896 soccer fans in a September game between UCSB and UCLA. It set a new collegiate attendance record for an on-campus NCAA soccer game. (Agapito)
