Tony Alfaro celebrated his return to the pitch by scoring a hat trick in Santa Barbara’s 5-0 rout over visiting Buena in a Channel League boys soccer game Thursday night.
Alfaro, who was suspended from the Dons’ last game because of a red card, finished three set pieces. His first broke a scoreless game just before halftime. He headed in a corner kick from Thomas Crawford.
Alfaro’s other two goals came in the 56th minute off an Alberto Hernandez free kick and in the 62nd off a Marco Sanchez corner kick.
Ryan Richardson finished an Alex Navarro setup for his first varsity goal in the 45th minute and Navarro scored from Sanford Spivey in the 47th minute.
Santa Barbara improves to 14-4-3 and 4-1 in Channel League.
