When all was said and done, Daniel Torres’ Carpinteria Warriors finished up the Soccer Town Showcase with two wins and a tie and kept their undefeated record intact after seven games.
The Warriors defeated Coachella Valley 1-0 on Saturday before playing Central East Fresno to a scoreless draw. Carpinteria defeated Segerstrom 3-2 on Friday.
“I’m just a proud coach tonight,” Carpinteria head coach Daniel Torres said, calling the victory over Coachella Valley one of the biggest regular-season triumphs in school history.
Ramiro Vega scored for Carpinteria (5-0-2) to make the difference against Coachella, the No. 1 team in CIF-SS Division II.
Carpinteria is the No. 8 team in Division V.
Torres used three goalkeepers in the two shutouts, getting good performances from Eric Rojas, Hans Pluma and Eduard Chacon.
“They’re all pretty good. And today, I just wanted to give everyone some time,” Torres said.
Carpinteria is off until the Buena Tournament at the end of the month.
