Preston Towers rose to the occasion on Saturday, compiling a season-high 14 points to lead five Providence Hall players in double figures, as the Lions defeated Orcutt Academy 61-39 in Murchison Gym.
Towers added 10 rebounds for the double-double, something JT Royston was also able to do with totals of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Douglas Throop managed a season-high with 10 points while Erik Sheets and Luke Gonzalez matched each other with 12 points.
The victory was a significant turnaround for Providence Hall, which had lost to Orcutt by six earlier in the week.
Providence Hall plays again on Monday against Grace Bretheren at Cate School. The girls game is at 5 p.m. followed by a boys game at 7 p.m.
PH actually beat Orcutt Academy earlier in the year.
