Luke Gonzalez piled up a season-high 20 points for Providence Hall on Friday, but the Lions fell to Thacher 67-49.
Gonzalez connected on six 3-pointers to carry the Lions’ offense while J.T. Royston dealt with frequent double and triple teams. Royston finished with eight points and 10 rebounds.
The Lions battled to within eight points late in the fourth quarter but ran out of steam. With starting point guard Nate Dutcher out with injury, the Lions played with five players.
Freshman Erik Sheets recorded a season-high 10 points for Providence Hall.
The Lions play again on Saturday against Orcutt Academy at Westmont at 10:30 a.m.
