Lauren Stratman completed a third straight year of dominating singles competition in the Channel League.
The Dos Pueblos junior kept her record perfect en route to winning her third singles championship and league MVP honors. Next season she’ll attempt to match the record of four straight titles set by Santa Barbara grad Ameila White (1988-92).
Santa Barbara, which won its 30th straight Channel League team title, had six players named to the all-league first team. They are: Grace Flintermann, Haley Hranicky-Galitzer, Ariana Hudson, Talia Hudson, Taryn Mjelde and Stephanie Thornton. All are seniors except Mjelde. The Hudsons won the Channel League doubles title.
Three members from runner-up finisher San Marcos round out the first team: junior Caitlin Mannix and seniors Christine Pearson and Amy Ransohoff.
Five freshmen were picked to the second team. From Dos Pueblos: Kate Stratman, Lea Tran Le; Santa Barbara: Megan Grant, Lisa Santry and Karina Thornton.
The rest of the second team consists of junior Parisa Fallahi, sophomore Jordan Lund and senior Liz Morris of San Marcos, sophomore Kaitlyn Rodnick of Santa Barbara and senior Alyson Meyer of Ventura.
The honorable mention selectees from local schools are: Kee Kee Daniels, Sophia Rasmussen, Katie O’Brien, Chloe Warriner and Rachel Amspoker of Dos Pueblos;
