The Bishops School took advantage of a soft San Marcos defense in the first half and went on to defeat the Royals 9-5 in a non-league girls water polo match on Tuesday.
San Marcos trailed 7-2 at halftime against the San Diego area power before picking up its play in the second half.
Brittney Hummel led the Royals (5-5) with three goals. Goalkeeper Alex Brown had five assists.
San Marcos is scheduled to play at Buena today in a Channel League match.
