San Marcos clamped down on defense and pulled away from Providence Hall, 45-22, in a non-league girls basketball game Friday at Maury Halleck Gym.
“It was tied after the first quarter,” San Marcos coach Kristyn Miller said. “They were utilizing their height. We made some defensive adjustments and did a better job taking care of the ball.”
Desiree Porter-Ray scored 11 points, Judith Rodiguez added 10 and Gabby Sandoval chipped in 9 for the Royals (3-6).
“They had a good crowd and we got flustered a little bit,” Miller said. “Once we got our focus back we played pretty well.”
