San Marcos had trouble handling Fillmore’s pressing defense in the fourth quarter, was held to four points and dropped a 49-38 decision to the Flashes in their girls basketball tournament Thursday night.
“The momentum went their way and we had way too many turnovers,” said San Marcos coach Kristyn Miller.
The Royals were outscored 14-4 in the final stanza.
“We’re still working out the kinks,” said Miller.
Desiree Porter-Ray scored 22 points for San Marcos (1-1), which plays Rosamond on Friday.
