Troy Ritter and Luke Judson scored for Laguna Blanca on Saturday to bring the Owls their first victory of the season, a 2-0 decision over Midland.
Ritter scored on a penalty kick in the first half to put the Owls up 1-0 at half. Judson then scored on a direct kick from just outside the penalty box in the second half.
Goalkeeper Pascal Karam recorded the clean sheet and made a one-on-one save to keep the shutout intact for Laguna (1-1).
Owls coach Travis Mañach also credited Kai Gamble’s defense for keeping Midland out of the net.
It was also the Condor League opener for both teams, making Laguna 1-0 in league play.
Next up for the Owls is the Santa Barbara Soccertown Showcase, where Laguna Blanca will host three out-of-town teams on Friday and Saturday.
