Erin Ristig had the scoring touch on Tuesday for Dos Pueblos’ girls soccer team at the Santa Maria Tournament, leading the Chargers to two victories.
DP defeated Atascadero 7-0 in the morning and followed that up with another 7-0 victory in the afternoon over Pioneer Valley. After a tournament-opening 2-1 loss to Paso Robles on Monday, the Chargers won their last three games by a combined score of 26-0.
Ristig scored three goals in both games on Tuesday for a total of six on the day. Rachel Smith and Maria Solis matched each other with three goals each in the two games.
Anna Rudeen was in goal to record both cleansheets.
Chargers head coach Jose Guerrero credited an increased commitment to team soccer for his team’s turn-around in the tournament.
The Chargers (11-3) will take a three-game win streak into their Channel League opener, next week against Ventura.
