Righetti foiled Santa Barbara High’s run at a second tournament title this season, bringing down the Dons 64-61 in overtime at the Righetti Tournament on Tuesday.
Tess Emerson drained a 3-pointer as time expired in regulation to force overtime, but the Dons could not muster any more magic after that. Emerson finished with a team-high 19 points.
Santa Barbara (10-5) won its tournament opener on Monday and defeated Santa Ynez 62-40 on Tuesday afternoon.
Emerson also had the team’s high-scoring output against the Pirates with 24.
The Dons wrap up tournament play at 9 a.m. on Wednesday with El Camino. Righetti can now win the tournament with a victory on Wednesday.
