Santa Barbara had rough night in Camarillo, shooting only 28 percent and suffering a 49-42 non-league girls basketball loss.
“We did not play well at all,” Santa Barbara coach Andy Butcher lamented. “It’s back to the drawing board.”
Tess Emerson scored 23 points, with 11 coming in the fourth quarter — the best quarter of the night for the Dons.
“One quarter does not make a ballgame,” said Butcher, quoting an idiom from another coach.
“We did not play with a lot of intensity until the fourth quarter,” he added.
The Dons (6-2) are back in action Monday against Pacifica in their annual Tournament of Champions.
