Sebastian Molina and Daniel Marshall shared the offensive load on Friday for Santa Barbara High’s boys basketball team, bringing the Dons their first win of the season at the Arroyo Grande Tournament.
The Dons defeated Nipomo 51-40 behind 14 points each from Molina and Marshall. Santa Barbara continues tourament play on Saturday with two games, starting with Atascadero at 1:30 p.m.
Friday’s game was even at 33-33 at the end of the third quarter before Santa Barbara outscored Nipomo 18-7 in the fourth.
“It was a close game through the end of the third, then we left them in the dust pretty much,” said Dons assistant coach Devin Uyesaka, saying Santa Barbara forced several turnovers that led to easy baskets.
