Daniel Marshall put up 24 points and 10 rebounds for Santa Barbara High’s boys basketball team on Monday, but the Dons were outplayed in the fourth quarter and dropped a 60-53 decision to Saugus.
Sebastian Molina recorded 16 points in his first start for the Dons and Marshall and Molina each knocked down three 3-pointers.
Jeremy Gatewood scored 14 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter for Saugus, helping them extend a slim 1-point lead at the end of the third quarter. Mitch Davis added 11 for the Centurions.
Monday’s game was the first of six for the Dons (0-2) this week, which continues on Tuesday at home against Camarillo.
