Sophomore Spencer Shapiro scored 15 points, had nine rebounds and three steals to lead Cate’s boys basketball team to a 54-48 win over visiting Faith Baptist on Wednesday.
Budi Sosrodjojo tossed in 14 points and Wes Greason added nine points and dished out six assists for the Rams, who opened up a 29-17 lead at halftime.
“The Cate boys have improved a great deal in a very short amount of time,” coach Bryan Rodriguez said. “I am very excited about the potential growth that this team can achieve as the season continues.”
