Dos Pueblos ran out of steam and suffered its first girls basketball defeat Wednesday night in the Gold Coast Tournament.
The Chargers fell to a good Chaminade team 60-49.
“We couldn’t shoot,” DP coach Jelani Hicks said. “We were 14 of 41 from the field. That was pretty much the story. We looked like we were tired out there.”
The Chargers (5-1) were coming off an emotional win over Santa Barbara on Saturday and an overtime victory at Righetti on Tuesday.
“Playing back-to-back nights, we just ran out of gas,” Hicks said “It was definitely a winnable game. We just couldn’t make shots down the stretch.”
Talitha Draper was the only Charger to score in double figures with 12 points.
DP is back in action Thursday at 4 p.m. against Nordhoff at San Marcos.
