Tess Emerson started her senior season with a double-double to lead Santa Barbara High’s girls basketball team to a 46-30 rout over host Lompoc in the first round of the Lompoc Tournament.
The Pepperdine-bound Emerson scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a game the Dons blew open in the middle two quarters. They outscored the Braves 33-18 in the second and third periods.
Ivette Gil added 10 points and freshman Desirea Coleman scored six points, had five rebounds and three assists in her first varsity game.
The Dons play Cabrillo on Friday.
