Robert Cid hit 7 of 9 free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Dos Pueblos boys basketball team hold off Westlake, 46-35, at the Ventura Kiwanis Tournament on Wednesday.
Cid finished with 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Jay Larinan and Mansai Conners each scored nine for the Chargers, who will play Pacifica for fifth place on Thursday.
Dos Pueblos roared out to an 11-2 lead in the first quarter but went cold in the second and led 18-14 at halftime.
The Chargers (5-6) attacked the basket in the second half and got to the free-throw line to pull out the win.
