A 24-point fourth quarter catapulted Dos Pueblos’ boys basketball team past Camarillo 55-41 on Saturday, rewarding the Chargers with fifth place at the Simi Vallley Tournament.
The scoreboard read 31-24 after three quarters before both teams picked up the scoring pace. There were 41 points scored in the final quarter compared to 51 in the previous three quarters combined.
All-tournament selection Jay Larinan led Dos Pueblos with 18 points and six blocks. Pablo Miranda pitched in 14 and Jackson Burke collected eight points and eight rebounds. Mansai Conner was the Chargers’ defensive stopper.
Dos Pueblos (3-1) moves on to a week in which the Chargers host two games. Righetti visits on Wednesday before Mater Dei, currently No. 3 in Southern California according to the LA Times, arrives on Friday.
Robert Cid added 9 points, and 5 steals joining Mansai Conner as a defensive stopper.
