Cate scored two goals in the second half to rally and beat Carpinteria 2-1 in a nonleague girls soccer match on Wednesday.
Sophomore Lois Stanley gave Carpinteria a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.
Carpinteria coach Lucy Carleton said despite conceding two goal her team played better soccer in the second half.
“We created more quality scoring opportunities, we just couldn’t finish them,” said Carleton, who lauded the play of goalkeeper Sally Lam (6 saves) and sweeper Kelsey Drain.
