Sophomore Justin Brosnan led a Bishop Diego goal-scoring explosion, knocking in four goals in a 7-0 romp over Laguna Blanca in the season opener for both boys soccer teams Wednesday at Laguna.
Sophomore Jonathan Ford and seniors Ryan Dinham and Michael Morando added single goals for the Cardinals.
Coach Jesus Landeros lauded the play of senior defender Tyler Rogers, Morando in the midfield and sophomore defender Luis Ortiz. The coach also cited football standout Brandon Gonzalez, who was making his soccer debut. He played up front with Brosnan.
