Elias Munoz scored 19 points and Bishop Diego had one of its best shooting games of the season in beating Hueneme 44-37 in its finale at the Jim Bashore Holiday Cage Classic in Carpinteria on Tuesday.
“We did shoot well,” Bishop coach Dean Prophet said of the team’s 45 percent performance from the floor. “We did a fair job running our offense and taking better shots.”
The Cardinals went 2-2 in the tournament to improve to 5-5 on the season.
“We led the whole way, which was good for us. We were playing looser instead of trying to dig ourselves out of a hole,” said Prophet.
Johnny Diaz and Ben Kwock each scored nine points and Noah Tack grabbed seven rebounds and Paul Garcia dished our four assists for Bishop.
