Natalie Durtche scored off a corner kick in the 47th minute to lift the Bishop Diego girls soccer team to a 2-1 home-opening win over Thacher
Elisa Bernardi delivered the corner kick. Six minutes into the game, she drilled a shot off the goalkeeper and teammate Jordan Price jumped on the rebound and scored the goal.
Thacher tied the score in the 42nd minute.
“Our performance was OK,” Bishop coach Brent Gonsalves said. “It definitely wasn’t the best game we played in the last week. It was our first game and we were a little nervous. But we got the result. I can be happy with that.”
Bishop is 2-2-2.
