Santa Barbara High’s Karina Thornton and Megan Grant upset one of the top seeds at the Channel League Doubles Championship on Wednesday, taking out San Marcos’ Christine Pearson and Amy Ransohoff in the second round to reach Thursday’s semifinals.
Thornton and Grant beat the No. 4 seeds 6-3, 6-4 and will meet the top-seeded team of Ariana Hudson and Talia Hudson on Thursday.
Santa Barbara High’s Taryn Mjelde and Stephanie Thornton will face San Marcos’ Jordan Lund and Caitlin Mannix in the other semifinal.
Thursday will see the doubles and singles titles decided at the Pierpont Racquet Club in Ventura.
