SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer shot 82 in Monday’s final round of the Southern Cal Championships and took eighth in a field of 44 players at the par-72 Alisal River Course in Solvang.
The freshman was one of 12 individual qualifiers for the Women’s Golf State Finals on Monday and Tuesday at Los Serranos CC in Chino Hills.
Irvine Valley had the low score on Monday (322) and claimed the team title with 632 strokes. Canyons also qualified for state with a 653. Mt. San Jacinto was third at 671 and Bakersfield took fourth at 676.
Nicole Rivera of Irvine Valley was named Player of the Year after winning medalist honors (69-76–145). Tina Yang (71-80) of Mt. San Jacinto tied for second at 151 with Tammy Panich of Glendale and Malea Miller of Bakersfield. Yang won a scorecard playoff for second and Panich was third.
Emily Wisma of SBCC shot 89 for a 36-hole total of 173 while Nicole Denny shot 90 for the second straight day.
“It was very windy and the conditions were tough,“ said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “Nicole (Bullemer) kept it together and kept her focus on advancing to the state championships.”
