Antonia Antes and Allyson Porter had 14 kills each on Thursday night, leading SBCC to a 25-16, 25-20, 25-21 women’s volleyball sweep at Cuesta in San Luis Obispo.
The Vaqueros, who trail WSC leader Moorpark by one game with three to play, improved to 17-5 overall and 6-1 in the WSC North with their third straight win and ninth in 10 matches. They’ve won 15 of their last 17 conference matches.
Jenn Waddill had eight kills and hit .615 while Hillary Tomas racked up 30 digs and Porter had 14. Kelsey Soos dished out 40 assists and Hanna Powers had a 2.4 passing efficiency on a scale of 3.0.
“There were a lot of rallies,” noted SBCC coach Ed Gover. “We had to be consistent with our passing and defense.”
The Vaqueros play host to Oxnard on Tuesday before taking on Moorpark in a first-place showdown on Thursday at the Sports Pavilion. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
