Nicki Brown collected a team-high 19 kills for Dos Pueblos’ girls volleyball team in its second-round CIF match on Thursday, a good number but not good enough for the win as the Chargers fell to Huntington Beach 25-14, 20-25, 25-15, 25-21.
“Huntington Beach was the better team tonight,” said Chargers head coach Todd Garrett. “They moved the ball well around on us and we couldn’t get a block up. They just outplayed us tonight.”
That’s not to take anything away from the way his team played, Garrett said.
“I’m proud of they way they fought, down to the last point.”
Dos Pueblos was the defending Division I-A CIF champions and had been in the title match the past two seasons. The Chargers did win their third straight Channel League championship this year.
DP is NOT the defending 1-AA CIF champions. They won CIF last year in division 1-A. This season they were moved up to the highest division.
right you are! made the fix. Thanks!
