Laguna Blanca tackled Dunn 62-28 in the Owls’ regular season finale on Saturday, securing a 5-3 overall record that should be good enough for a CIF postseason berth.
Laguna Blanca finished third in the Condor League and must receive an at-large bid to the postseason. Ranked No. 10 in the most recent CIF 8-man poll, the Owls have a good resume.
Kevin Drew ignited the Owls in the first half against Dunn, scoring their first three touchdowns. Austin Rusack then scored with no time on the clock in the first half to make the score 28-14.
Rusack added three more touchdowns in the second half. Two came on the ground while one was a 43-yard interception return for the defense.
Joey Coleman and Logan Elder were also responsible for Laguna Blanca touchdowns and quarterback Troy Ritter was 13-of-24 with a pair of touchdown passes.
