In an impressive display of depth, the Gauchos did not lose a set on their way to sweeping all nine matches against LMU opponents on day two of the UCSB Classic.
Mathieu Forget led the way in flight A singles, recording a decisive victory over Daniel Simko of Loyola Marymount 6-0, 6-0. Alex Johnson was also off the court quickly with a 6-1,6-1 win in the F flight.
The Gauchos were also flawless in doubles sweeping all three matches to improve upon their day one results. With today’s success it is possible for the Gauchos to sweep all nine flights of the round robin tournament.
The UCSB Classic concludes tomorrow afternoon with the Gauchos squaring off against Westmont opponents at 1p.m. at the Recreation Center Courts on campus.
