The No. 4 Cate girls tennis team stayed true to its seed, reserving a spot in CIF’s Division IV semifinals with a 12-6 victory over El Segundo on Tuesday.
The doubles teams of Sarah Cohen/Annaliese Schroeder, Nikita Kokal/Lela Puckett, and Annelies Northup/Alexx Temena were perfect on the day, winning all nine sets.
“I was really proud of our girls and how they came out swinging right from the start. Our singles play has been fairly consistent all year but it was our doubles that secured the win today.”
Cate will travel to face the winner of Cajon and Buckley on Thursday. Buckley is the division’s No. 1 seed.
