A tight first game fell in Oak Park’s direction on Monday and the match followed as the Eagles defeated Bishop Diego 25-23, 25-18 25-15.
Lauren Underwood led the Cardinals with 13 kills and Diana Sleep tallied 11. Nicole Tetherow dished out 29 assists. Libero Maddie Ballard also made an impact, according to head coach Erika Lilley.
“We’re still learning to believe that we can win,” Lilley said. “We just have to be more consistent.”
The Cardinals play again on Tuesday, hosting Nordhoff.
