Nicki Brown posted a whopping 25 kills on Tuesday as the Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team pulled out a 25-21, 25-13, 23-25, 23-25, 18-15 win over Buena.
Coach Todd Garrett said that Brown also had a solid night passing in serve receive.
“We came out strong and the girls were playing really well, but I think after our solid win in game two we let down a little bit and lost some momentum,” said the coach. “Our serving and mental game suffered in games three and four, but the girls showed a lot of character to come back in game five.”
Ciena Colburn came alive with two key kills from the middle blocker spot in the fifth game, and Garrett added that Hannah Harris and Kendall Vincent both made key contributions off the bench. Amanda Moriarty also had 11 kills.
“I’m proud of how we pulled it out, and we’re looking forward to Senior Night against San Marcos on Thursday,” said Garrett.
The Chargers are now 19-8 overall and 7-0 in the Channel League.
